Ash Regan is a Scottish politician serving as the Scottish Government's Community Safety Minister since March 2023.
Prior to this, she was a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Edinburgh Eastern constituency from 2016 to 2021, and then for the Edinburgh Eastern region from 2021. She is a member of the Scottish National Party (SNP).
In early 2023, she resigned from her role as Community Safety Minister to contest the SNP leadership election, following Nicola Sturgeon's resignation. Her campaign focused on achieving Scottish independence, and reforming the party's approach to strategy, but she ultimately came third in the race. She was later reappointed to her ministerial post by Humza Yousaf following his election as First Minister.
